Treaty One Territory, Manitoba – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) issues this information as an update regarding the formal complaint against Grand Chief Arlen Dumas.
Today, Shamattawa First Nation Chief Eric Redhead announced that he needed to step down as the AMC Acting Grand Chief due to time constraints and commitments. The Executive Council of Chiefs met today, accepted his resignation, and appointed Lake Manitoba First Nation Chief Cornell McLean as the Acting Grand Chief of the AMC.
Given the nature of this matter, no interviews or further statements will be offered at this time. The AMC will continue to provide timely updates in an ongoing manner when reasonably possible.
