Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Provide Update on Upcoming Special Assembly

Treaty One Territory, Manitoba – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) releases the following update in regard to the AMC workplace Investigation.
Following the receipt of an independent report into workplace sexual harassment, the Executive Council of Chiefs have scheduled a Special Assembly to conduct a vote of non-confidence, under the procedures of the AMC’s constitution, for Grand Chief Arlen Dumas. A Special Assembly is now scheduled for August 5, 2022. Chiefs will meet to consider removing Grand Chief Arlen Dumas from his role. Until that time, he remains suspended without pay.
Should the vote of a non-confidence pass, a by-election for the Grand Chief will be conducted at a later date.
