Treaty One Territory, Manitoba – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) releases the following statement:
The press release issued on August 3, 2022, by Arlen Dumas was made with no association and is independent of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs.
The vote of non-confidence will proceed in a closed meeting, in accordance with the Executive Council of Chiefs’ resolution following the independent workplace investigation, which found that the actions of Arlen Dumas amounted to workplace sexual harassment. This vote is in alignment with the procedures set out under the constitution of the AMC.
We are committed to providing an update regarding the vote of non-confidence as soon as it becomes available, which we anticipate will be late Friday afternoon.
