Treaty One Territory, Manitoba, Friday, May 31, 2019 – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs plans to facilitate constructive dialogue between election candidates and First Nations citizens prior to the pending federal and provincial elections.

AMC will host a series of town hall meetings with First Nations citizens to allow them to voice their concerns. AMC will then compile the information and create another series of town hall meetings where political candidates can come answer the questions put forward by the
grassroots people.

“In previous elections the AMC has encouraged First Nations to vote and display the influence First Nations have in the participating in federal and provincial elections,” says Grand Chief Arlen Dumas. “We must wield our influence in the proper way. It will be up to the candidates to prove to us why we should support them.”
