The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs will convene a Special Chiefs Assembly on August 21–22, 2025. Chiefs from across Manitoba will gather to deliberate on Manitoba’s proposed Crown-Indigenous Corporation, resource equity, revenue sharing, and Treaty protection.

This Assembly is a space for First Nations to advance our own frameworks that reaffirm inherent rights, governance, and economic authority — including ownership and decision-making on major projects that impact our lands and waters. Chiefs will also consider the direct link between present-day emergencies and the need for long-term fiscal restructuring to ensure Nations have the resources and authority to respond rapidly and effectively to crises.
