Canadian Red Cross offering free Psychological First Aid training for First Nations in Manitoba

The Canadian Red Cross, with the support of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, is pleased to offer 500 training opportunities to First Nations members in Manitoba. The Canadian Red Cross is offering two different online Psychological First Aid courses that can be done from your own home.

The Psychological First Aid Self-Care and Psychological First Aid Caring for Others online courses will help people to understand the impact of stress, loss, trauma and grief.
• The self-care course focuses on understanding how to take care of yourself and to cope with various types of stress.
• The caring for others course helps individuals learn how to recognize when someone is experiencing distress and how to assist them, without judgment.

The Canadian Red Cross encourages First Nation members to sign up soon to take advantage of these free courses that will help people deal with psychological distress, trauma, stress and grief. These are valuable skills for individuals to have at their disposal because you never know when someone might need Psychological First Aid.
