TREATY ONE TERRITORY, MB – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs issues this statement in learning that former Chief Alex J. Robinson, Pimicikamak Cree Nation has left us for the spirit world.
Deputy Grand Chief Cornell McLean said, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alex J. Robinson. We have lost another great leader who continued to work in his First Nation on a number of initiatives. We would like to send prayers and thoughts to his wife, Dorothy and his children, his relatives and friends and the Nation of Pimicikamak. Travel well our friend.”
The former Chief served as a leader for Pimicikamak Cree Nation from 2008 to 2009. He was known for his humour and kindness as well as his faith. Alex regularly attended community events and shared his passion for music, generously playing hymns for those who passed, and was always present at funerals to offer support for his friends and relatives. He cared deeply for his Nation but even more so for his family.
Your legacy of kindness and passion will continue on, and we know that you will continue to guide our prayers from the other side.
