AMC Expresses Deep Condolences to Filipino Community Following Vancouver Tragedy

Treaty One Territory, Winnipeg, MB – Grand Chief Kyra Wilson, on behalf of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC), sends heartfelt condolences and prayers to the families and the Filipino community in Vancouver following the tragic loss of life caused by a senseless act of violence.

“We are devastated to hear of this heartbreaking tragedy. There is no excuse, no justification, for violence that tears apart families and communities,” said Grand Chief Wilson. “We condemn these actions in the strongest possible terms. Every life is sacred, and no individual or community should have to endure such pain.”

Grand Chief Wilson emphasized the importance of standing in unity against violence and thanked police and first responders for their quick actions to protect and support families during the immediate aftermath.

“In this time of mourning, we offer our full support to the Filipino community. Our prayers are with you. We honour the lives lost, and we send strength and solidarity to those left behind.”
